Joanna Yu & Peter Kuitenbrouwer
Qianli (Joanna) Yu and Peter Kuitenbrouwer are forestry interns at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Sunnybrook, the largest hospital in Canada, has 12,000 employees and almost as many trees on 95 acres over three sites. Using the Neighbourwoods and Vegetation Sampling protocols, Joanna and Peter are assessing the trees on Sunnybrook's main Bayview campus. Sunnybrook knows a great deal about the health of its patients but less about the health of its trees

Gan Lin
This summer Gan Lin is working in the wood laboratory as a forestry researcher with the supervision of professor Sally Krigstin. Gan is doing the data analysis in a going-on biomass project exploring the mechanism responsible for the degradation process within stored woody biomass fuel. Also he is starting a new project in producing biodegradable green flower pot based on renewable material as waste paper and manure from alpaca.
